Melody Petitt understands that a family law case is a time of high stress and anxiety. This is why she approaches her clients and their situations with the compassion and personal attention she would want in the same circumstances. As a mother herself, Melody brings a passion for helping families in their time of need with insight and integrity.
Melody learned the importance politics plays in the judicial system with her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University – Commerce. Attending law school at Baylor University School of Law gave Melody the opportunity to learn trial advocacy in one of the best programs in the United States. She hit the ground as a lawyer “trial ready” for the courtroom and has never stopped.
Melody originally started her legal career with the Child Support Division of Office of the Attorney General, followed by a solo practice in Beaumont, Texas. She and her husband Wayne have three children. During her free time, Melody enjoys reading and fostering rescue dogs.
